While the Cookies Cool

Our sugar cookies are cooling.  It’s super fun to make cut out sugar cookies with two children and a toddler.  And by fun, I mean, possibly never again.  Flour and dough literally flying.  I’m not sure they understand correctly the concept of making the dough “go as far as possible!” I had to chase my nine year old son through the house and drag him onto the balcony for a cool down before the cool down, giggles all the way. …

Bathsheba, a Mother of Jesus

If you haven’t taken a close look at the genealogy of Jesus in Matthew, my headline might seem shocking, maybe even blasphemous. However, she is listed, not by name, but simply as Solomon’s mother, “…the wife of Uriah.” And, at least to me, Bathsheba’s story is one of the greatest accounts of God’s grace and redemption in the entire Bible.
